The buying question
01 · Budget
Separate essential match kit from optional training and travel wear. Price shirts, shorts, socks, goalkeeper sets, printing, VAT and delivery for the actual squad before adding extras.
If sponsors are contributing, agree which items their funding covers and who approves artwork. Keep the club’s payment dates aligned with the supplier’s deposit and balance schedule.
02 · Practical supply
Ask how the supplier handles a new player, damaged garment or changed squad number after the main order. Confirm whether a top-up uses the same minimum quantity and whether the design remains available for the full season.
Use the exact range’s size guide and arrange samples where possible. A shared club order record prevents volunteers from rebuilding the information each time responsibility changes.
03 · Timeline
Allow time for sponsor files, design revisions, sample sizing, final squad approval, production, delivery and a contingency window. Do not treat an estimated turnaround as a committed delivery date until the order and artwork are approved.
Nominate one person to consolidate changes and approve the final proof. Multiple informal versions of the squad list are a common source of avoidable errors.
